Youth Worker & Sports Coach – Freelance, £15–£20 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
Power Through Sport CIC is seeking passionate and motivated Freelance Youth Workers & Sports Coaches to support delivery of Park Nights 2026 across North Tyneside, Newcastle and South Shields.
Park Nights is a detached youth work project delivered in local parks and open spaces during the spring and summer months. Sessions are dynamic and youth-led, creating an energetic atmosphere that often includes music, sport activities (such as football, basketball and multi-sport games), and our on-site pizza trailer. The aim is to create a welcoming and positive space that naturally draws young people in and encourages engagement.
As a Freelance Youth Worker & Sports Coach, you will engage young people aged 11–16 where they are already spending time. Taking a detached approach, you will build trusted relationships in their own spaces, using sport and conversation as tools to connect, support and role model positive behaviour.
You will facilitate inclusive activities, adapt delivery depending on group dynamics, manage behaviour calmly and confidently, and contribute to basic session monitoring and registers. This role involves consistent evening work throughout the spring and summer months and requires flexibility, professionalism and confidence working in outdoor community environments.

Park Nights Volunteer / Student Placement – Volunteer Role
Power Through Sport CIC is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support delivery of Park Nights 2026 across North Tyneside, Newcastle and South Shields.
Park Nights is a detached youth work project delivered in local parks during the spring and summer months. Sessions are informal and engaging, often including music, sport activities and our on-site pizza trailer — creating a positive space that attracts and connects with young people in their own communities.
As a Park Nights Volunteer, you will support qualified staff to engage young people aged 11–16, assist with activities, and help maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical community and youth work experience.
The role involves evening sessions throughout the spring and summer. No formal coaching qualification is required — reliability, confidence and a genuine interest in supporting young people are key.

Sports Coach - Freelance, £15-£20 depending on qualifications and experience.
Power Through Sport CIC is seeking a passionate and motivated Freelance Sports Coach to lead and deliver a variety of sports sessions for our programs. As a Freelance Sports Coach, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating sports activities, ensuring they are inclusive, engaging, and focused on improving participants' skills and wellbeing.
