A Professional Development Pathway supporting volunteers to reach their full-potential through sport delivered in partnership with the StreetGames Training Academy.
Delivered by staff equipped with Level 3 Training and Education and Level 4 Assessors qualifications allowing for a flexible approach to learning, a combination of accredited and bespoke training and mentoring opportunities aim at developing both professional and interpersonal skills.

Meet Iona!
A powerful example of what’s possible through Power Through Sport’s Professional Development Pathway.
Iona first joined the PTS family in 2017 as a participant, where her passion for hockey, learning and community first began to grow.
After progressing through the programme, she returned in 2022 as a volunteer, giving back to the very environment that had supported her development. Through ongoing mentoring, our coach development programme and hands-on experience across junior and senior sessions, Iona continued to build her skills and confidence, moving into paid casual youth work in 2023.
Her journey didn’t stop there. Today, Iona is a full-time Community Activator Coach, leading hockey programmes, supporting young people, and driving excellence across multiple areas of Power Through Sport.
Her story reflects the heart of our pathway — showing how volunteering, training, professional development and employment opportunities can create meaningful, long-term careers in sport. Iona’s journey is not only a testament to her dedication and growth, but also to the power of education, opportunity and belief, inspiring the next generation coming through Power Through Sport.
